Scientist / Senior Scientist, Protein Chemistry

The successful candidate will be responsible for the discovery and generation of antibody derived binders used in our proprietary TRuC™ platform. The position will work closely with experienced scientists in a dynamic, fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.


  • Identify and incorporate technologies that enhance our binder discovery capabilities
  • Design and clone protein expression constructs
  • Express antigens and antibodies in bacterial and mammalian systems
  • Optimize purifications using the AKTA platform
  • Use biochemical and biophysical methods to characterize antibodies, scFvs and sdAbs
  • Support humanization and clone selection efforts
  • Determine kinetic constants
  • Epitope binning and mapping
  • Provide protein expertise and generate reagents needed to support our discovery platform
  • Manage immunizations and screenings at CROs


  • Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, protein chemistry or related discipline with a minimum of 4 years experience, preferably in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting
  • Experience in engineering and expression of monoclonal antibodies, Fabs, scFvs, sdAbs and proteins
  • Expertise with CHO, HEK293 and bacterial expression platforms
  • Extensive experience with protein purifications on AKTA systems using affinity, SEC and IEX chromatography
  • Extensive experience with characterization of antibodies and proteins using biophysical and biochemical techniques (PAGE & Western blots, ELISA, SEC, DSC, Octet, epitope mapping, etc.)
  • Experience in humanization, affinity maturation, and reformatting of antibodies is highly desirable
  • Experience with the design, generation and screening of display libraries is a plus
  • The candidate should be a team player, highly organized with excellent communication skills, and demonstrate scientific rigor and excellent problem-solving skills
