Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist (Flow Cytometer Operator), Immunology

TCR² Therapeutics Inc. is an immuno-oncology company developing novel cancer therapies that unleash the full signaling power of complete T cell receptors (TCR). TCR² has developed a unique proprietary TRuC™ platform which can reprogram the natural TCR complex to recognize specific antigens found on tumors where they elicit rapid killing of cancer cells. The company has demonstrated activity against both hematological and solid tumor targets in preclinical models and believes its TRuC™-reprogrammed T cells will serve as the engine for important therapies.  TCR² was founded by MPM Capital and has scientific operations in Cambridge, MA to leverage best-in-class technologies and nucleate top-tier academic laboratories around the world.

The successful candidate will join the immunology team at TCR² to maintain the flow cytometer core and provide technical support to the Immunology team and other teams at TCR² with her/his expertise in flow cytometer instrumentation, flow panel optimization, and data analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain proficiency with benchtop cytometers (LSR Fortessa-HTS, Celesta) and associated software and peripherals

  • Perform scheduled (daily start-up, cleaning, shut-down) maintenance of instruments, including data backup

  • Perform quality control and monitor instrument performance

  • Troubleshoot benchtop cytometers and associated software and peripherals

  • Contact and interact with vendor service and FACS benchtop cytometer field service engineers as needed

  • Train research team members with instrument operation as needed

  • Provide technical and scientific support to researchers in operating analyzers and Flow Analysis software

  • Coordinate instrument schedules and solve conflicts as needed

  • Maintain good supplies of necessary reagents and consumables

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in flow cytometry instrument set up and optimization, instrument characterization methods, QC methods, and instrument maintenance required

  • BS/BA or MS in a scientific discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience operating flow cytometers (LSR Fortessa with HTS, Celesta with HTS).

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a Flow Core Facility.

  • Knowledge of advanced FACS principles

  • Software expertise (FACSDiva and FlowJo).

  • Have a wide variety of flow cytometry experience.

  • Previous experience operating a cell sorter is preferred

  • Strong problem-solving experience.
